THE UNCONSCIOUS PROCESSES

The concepts are not anywhere; instead they are in the theoretical formulation in which they are articulated with other concepts.

The human being is born, for the first time, through the birth canal. The Apgar test assesses the general condition of the new born. We are born, for the second time, in the arms of language, that is, we are born without a psyche and we are the desire of others. Being born without defects, without congenital malformations, does not mean that we are born healthy. We know that the new born does not have the optic nerve covered with myelin, he cannot see, he can only be looked by others, he does not know how to retain sphincters and it is impossible for him to remain seated until six months (mirror phase or first identification with an image), he will remain upright approximately after a year of life and the first lie points out the endless process of symbolization in his humanity.

The child begins to dream in order to wish. At the beginning, neither the others nor the sexual differences exist in infantile Sexuality and only after the Oedipus Complex, in the Castration Operation, the symbolic functions appear: father, mother, man, woman. Afterwards, an infantile Amnesia will appear (where the memory that forgets nothing is built) in the period called Latency, the result of the mechanism of Repression of that perverse and polymorphic infantile sexuality. This ends in the second stage of human sexuality, the Metamorphosis of Puberty (10-12 years), where the concepts of sexuality and death are articulated, due to the origin of father and mother and the anatomical differences between man and woman, woman which carries some psychic consequences. From there we are subjects of desire and subjects of language. In a few years we appropriate, through language, centuries of civilization. Afterwards there is still a long way to humanize ourselves.

However, children are capable of performing highly complex logical operations, they can be virtuous in painting, mathematics, music, chess ... We can say that the child is the parent of the adult an adult who can reach a human level in health, thought, creation, love ... and this will depend not only on what we received but on how we accept and how we renounce what we were, that makes each subject unique. We are alike and at the same time we are different.

Throughout this process, medicine gives the maximum to the letter and psychoanalysis gives letter to the body. Medicine is in charge of treating diseases and psychoanalysis is in charge of producing health. Both disciplines have collaborated so that the average half-life, in the West, has passed in the last century from 52 years to 85 years. The poet tells us; however, life has no meaning and in the example of living, living is the example.

So, if we are born without a psyche, where is the unconscious? The unconscious is nowhere, nobody has it and nobody can appropriate that concept without being previously worked on it, and this is due to the own characteristics of the unconscious concept: it does not judge, nor calculate, it does not manage chronological time, it does not know the contradiction is pure pulsation, it always remains unconscious, it beats without rest to show itself in consciousness. And due to the structural mechanism of Repression, it only achieves it by getting deformed, getting disguised itself in different products that are shown in material reality such as: dreams, lapses, oral mistakes, symptoms, jokes, failures, humour, silences, sarcasm, irony, memory, thought, affection, creation ...

This object of knowledge, the unconscious (incapable of consciousness) requires a scientific method (of interpretation-construction) that follows from the characteristics of said concept to be able to appropriate that psychic reality. Being the method that dictates the psychoanalytic technique (of free association in transference) to show in the material reality the necessary tools in the production of a concrete thought about psychic health.

When we speak of unconscious processes, we start from its characteristics; if we study it from reason, consciousness or conscious perception, we will not be able to account for these processes.

The Unconscious Processes do not refer to locality, but to temporality, it is not a matter of locating them, but of locating the relationships of place that exist between psychic instances.
