THE WOMAN REIGNES THE KING SPORT (2)

FROM THE BOOK FOOTBALL AND PSYCHOANALYSIS, CHAPTER SIX.

Let us make a parenthesis, we will go back three thousand years ago, towards the 776 before Christ in the Greek city of Olympia, and thus we can give an account that for centuries, the sport has been a land completely prohibited to woman. Women's participation was then excluded, and not only as athletes but also as spectators.

From a double sexual morality permitted in men and punishable in women, it follows that only single women could attend the games, and death penalty was for a married woman observing the athletes in full action, since the athletes competed naked , exhibiting their bodies as a symbol of perfection and dedication.

We can see that the woman, slave in her freedom, practiced sport during centuries hidden in the silence, until psychoanalyst permitted her to speak without any disapproval.

If we focus on the Olympics Games, we know they opened their doors to women in the year 1900, despite the fact the great strategist of the modern Olympics, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, observed an absolute rejection manifesting publicly: "Women only have a function in the sport, to crown the winner with the garlands of triumph "arguing that the presence of the woman in a stadium was unsightly, uninteresting and incorrect. With the passage of time, it wanted to be excused the creator of the Modern Olympic Games, as stated in the Olympic magazine of February 2000 where we read: "It is the law of the house, that was the dominant image of the mother that Coubertin received during his school education; and that was also the image of the woman who introduced the French science of the time.”

The specialists ask: do you think that the Baron's mother is responsible? And, since when does science have nationality?

In that year, 1900 in Paris, the presence in the women's competition was limited solely and exclusively to golf and tennis. Of the one thousand and seventy competitors, six of them were women. The first Olympic who was laureate was the tennis player Charlotte Cooper of England.

A feminine sporting movement began that found a standard bearer in the French Alice Melliat, becoming the first woman in obtaining the diploma that until now corresponded to the long-distance rowers. In 1917 Alice Melliat founded the Federation of Women's Societies of France (FFSF) and on October 31, 1921 with the support of the United States, Great Britain, Italy, Czechoslovakia and France organized the International Women's Sports Federation (FSFI).

When the FSFI confirm that the International Athletics Federation (IAFF) does not listen to or attend them, in the sense of including women's events in the World Athletics Championships, it organizes the First Women's World Games in the Pershing stadium in Paris, inaugurating them on 20 April 1922

Four years later in 1926, the Swedish city of Gothenburg hosted the Second Women's Olympic Games, an event that began to be seen with concern by the organizers and leaders of the Olympic Games.

When the woman stops being an object of desire and becomes an individual who desires; there is when the sports revolution begins. (To be continued).
